           “She’s not going.”             Magna stood before Guatarr defiantly, Fafner by her side with his arms crossed, both glaring at Guatarr and his outright refusal. Aala stood by her mother quietly, hands clasped in front of her. A small bag of the girl’s clothes and belongings sat at Magna’s feet where she had dropped them.             Magna’s face was bloated with indignation, “Why not? You should take Aala along with you. This merchant is obviously rich, he can handle another servant.”             “I will not impose on him.            Julia couldn’t breathe, thoughts sparking off randomly in her head as she sat dumbfounded, the only coherent thing she could string together being--- it worked .             Oh , dear gods it worked .             Her father’s description did not do the creature justice. The bear was massive, the size of a draft horse, and with the most beautiful coat of pearl white fur. He looked as though he stepped down from the moon, his fur even glowed . Teenage indignant rage had pushed her this far, but now, sitting face to face with the infamous bear a few yards away, her resolve shriveled up with a squeak, leaving Julia sitting stock still.
